陳偉殷與金鶯隊的合約本季到期，他被認為是自由球員市場上，評價僅次於賽揚獎強投普萊斯的第二號左投，在「超級經紀人」波拉斯操盤下，殷仔有機會拿到平均年薪破千萬的複數年合約，下季續留金鶯的可能性微乎其微。

陳偉殷明年繼續效力金鶯的機會有多高？金鶯轉播單位《MASN》記者庫巴可甚至直言：「可能性只有5％！」因為金鶯傳統上不會開出大約來留投手，從以往的「馴鹿」穆西納（Mike Mussina）到葛瑟瑞（Jeremy Guthrie）都是如此。

金鶯近年來只從自由市場簽過1位平均年薪破千萬的投手，就是去年的席曼奈茲，但兩年下來他只貢獻18勝，還一度被下放到牛棚，顯然不是一筆好的投資，這也會讓金鶯更加謹慎，很難對殷仔砸下重金。

《巴爾的摩太陽報》記者安西納則說，金鶯目前不像去年A咖只有游擊手哈帝約滿，可以全力留人，今年C.戴維斯、韋特斯、歐戴、皮爾斯都將成為自由球員，球團必須擬定留人的優先順位，一旦有人願意續約，立刻彈性調整策略，狀況非常複雜，也增加了留下陳偉殷的難度。

當然，金鶯是有吸引陳偉殷的地方，他在這裡待了4年，是最熟悉的美職球隊。然而，對一個從日職轉戰大聯盟，並已證明自己能在最高殿堂競爭的球員來說，適應另一個環境雖然仍是挑戰，但大概不會是太大的問題。

對4年前跨海挑戰大聯盟的陳偉殷來說，小市場球隊金鶯，球團、球迷、媒體都很和善，是個讓他適應新環境的好選擇，殷仔也幸運參與了金鶯暌違15年重返季後賽、相隔17年再戰美聯冠軍賽的榮耀時刻。只是適應期已過，殷仔是該跨出小城市巴爾的摩，邁向下階段挑戰的時候了。
